About MicrosoftMicrosoft is not the answer. Manifesto...Microsoft has a history of elbowing out competition (like Netscape) by fiddling with the operating system (which it monopolises) to make it difficult for competitors. In the wide open world of Linux, Microsoft would (for once) have to compete on quality of product, effectiveness of support and price. Uncharted territory indeed. One World, One Web, One Program- Microsoft Promotional Ad Microsoft (and its onetime leader Bill Gates) are a soft target for anyone frustrated with using systems dependent upon their proprietary software such as Windows and MSWord. They are an easy target because they are big and successful, but this is not the reason for many people's (including mine) feelings of anger towards Microsoft. It is their history of wrongdoing, the abuse of power, the dirty deals and the Machiavellian manipulation of the industry that has stifled competition and limited innovation. Evidence abounds - the US Department Of Justice's action against Microsoft, stories in the independent IT press, and instances pointed out by some other anti-Microsoft sites for the truth about Bill and Co... |
