HTML mazes

These mazes do not require any special plugins or advanced browsers - simply click on the links! There are two types of mazes - the simple ASCII art (text) version, and the slightly more sophisticated version with a 3D view. Your objective in both of these is to find the magical * which is cunningly concealed somewhere in the winding passages...

Instructions

Below the visible map segment is a set of compass-point links which control your movement through the maze, and should be self-explanatory. In the map itself, the ASCII characters represent:

  • X = wall
  • o = you
  • * = your goal
  • / = elevator going up
  • \ = elevator going down
  • Beware - some walls are not what you think they are, and some are invisible!

When you've reached the goal - a Well done message will appear at the top of the window.

The mazes

The mazes may take several seconds to load, and possibly longer for slower computers/connections. If your browser does not have JavaScript enabled, you might need to manually resize your browser window to only show one maze page at a time.

How it works

The maze is actually made up of lots of map segments chained together on one HTML page, with the movement done via # links.
